How I Preferred PasswordSafe Over Keepass for Importing KDBX Files

As a system administrator with a background in Linux, I have always been drawn to the simplicity of interface that PasswordSafe offers over Keepass when it comes to importing KDBX files. In fact, my preference for PasswordSafe goes back years, even before I started working in a Windows-oriented environment.

My affinity for GNOME (based on GTK) rather than KDE (based on QT Library) stems from my many years of using GNU/Linux as my primary operating system for daily sysadmin tasks. As such, I grew accustomed to the intuitive nature of the GNOME interface and was less inclined towards KDE. This bias carried over when I transitioned to working in a Windows environment for the sake of Outlook use, Office 365, and Citrix accessibility.

For many years, I relied on PasswordSafe as my go-to password manager within my job location as system administrator on the Windows computers I used as dumb hosts to administrate remotely via SSH servers. I developed code in bash/perl, stored different sysadmin management tools and interfaces, and kept track of passwords using PasswordSafe. Its simplicity and ease of use made it an ideal solution for my needs.

Despite Keepass's popularity and robust feature set, I have never felt the need to switch from PasswordSafe due to its seamless integration with my workflow. The import functionality for KDBX files is just one example of how PasswordSafe has consistently met my requirements without requiring me to adapt to a new interface or learn complex features.

In conclusion, while Keepass may offer advanced features and customization options, I have found that PasswordSafe's simplicity and ease of use make it the better choice for importing KDBX files and managing passwords in my daily sysadmin tasks.
